Within Kirkland, elementary boundaries feed into four middle schools, and those feed into two boundary high schools: Lake Washington High School and Juanita High School. Because the district spans Kirkland and Redmond, some Kirkland-adjacent addresses are assigned to Redmond boundary schools; the lookup, not the mailing address, decides.
Two programs on this site are not boundary schools. International Community School is a district choice school that enrolls by application and lottery, with no attendance boundary. Emerson High School is a district choice program, also with no boundary. An address does not secure a seat at either one, so a purchase made around a choice program is made around a commute.

Feeder neighborhoods are a starting point, not a boundary. Neighborhood names and attendance lines do not match exactly, and a single street can sit on a line. The address lookup is the answer.
Boundary-check checklist before you offer

- Confirm with the district directly. For a home near a boundary line, or with a Kirkland mailing address on the Redmond edge, contact the district's enrollment office and get the assignment in writing before your contingency deadlines pass.
- Assume boundaries can change. The district revises attendance areas when schools open, close, or reach capacity. A current assignment describes this school year, not a future one.
- Read the listing's school field as a claim. MLS school fields are entered by the listing broker and are not verified by the district. A mismatch between listing and lookup is a reason to ask.
